What callers who reach nobody cost you

Two numbers you know. The method is under the result, with the sources. It is a ceiling, not a promise.

32 callers reach nobody

How this is worked out

Callers who reach nobody = your calls × 27%. Invoca’s 2026 home-services benchmark found 27–35% of callers who wait 15–30 seconds reach nobody; we use the low end.
Value of each of those callers = your average job × 44% × ⅓. SearchLight’s February 2026 Local Services Ads benchmark found 44% of ad calls book, with average paid work per call of $390 for plumbing, $487 for HVAC and $332 for electrical. The ⅓ is a close-rate-style haircut, because not every missed caller would have booked with you and not every booked job is paid in full.
Yours is probably lower: the inputs are benchmarks for shops that advertise, and some callers do call back. Use it as a ceiling.
